Okay so a while ago firefox was lagging seriously bad, and I was looking for ways to make it go faster and I saw a post in a forum (can't remember what site) and it told me to change something in about:config to raise it, they said it changes how often firefox goes and saves your tabs for when you re-open it but now it seems like it doesn't save it at all because I had my pages up for hours then the computer did a mandatory update and so it restarted, and now I lost my pages and I want to change it to where it remembers as often as it used to so does anyone know what I changed in about:config so I can change it back?

Do you have any sessionstore-##.js files in the Firefox Profile Folder with a number in the name?

You can try to delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Hi,

In the newer versions you can set the tab restore option beside When Firefox starts in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > General. Even otherwise you may be able to Restore Previous Session via History (Alt + S). Please also note the correct options in the Privacy tab for this to work smoothly.

If you've made changes to prefs and you don't remember which prefs then it is best to reset all prefs.

Problems with lagging can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file or a problem with an extension.

You can also try to repair the places database with this extension:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Reset creates a new profile and tries to import some settings from the old profile leaving the old profile intact.
