I saw this solution in several places - tried it and it worked.

Change Firefox Config settings as follows:

Clear the URL area on the Nav.toolbar, and enter:
          about:config
Click the button on the "Warning" panel if it appears.
A long list of preferences will appear.
   Type into the "filter" box:
          dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll
Only one preference should remain (the one you typed in).
It should have boolean value "true" beside it.
   Right-click on it.
   Select (left-click on) "Toggle".
   Value should change to "false".
   Close the browser window.
   Stop and restart Firefox.

The RealPlayer "Record" options should appear again in Firefox. If not,

Check Firefox "Tools =>Add-ons" to make sure the Plugin
     is installed and enabled.
  Check RealPlayer"Tools=>Preferences=>Download&Record"
to make sure the Web Download option is turned on.

Explanation: Firefox 3.4 and later added a new protection that runs plugins in a separate task (less chance of plugins locking/crashing Firefox). The Adobe Flash Player plugin (npswf32.dll) doesn't like this - so RealPlayer can't record .flv (Flash) files. This change causes the Flash Plugin to run as part of the Firefox main task. You should know that Flash is not known as the world's most reliable plugin.
