All of my bookmarks are gone

Hi, all of my bookmarks, years' worth that I have never had an issue with before, have suddenly disappeared. Backups do not seem to be available. How do I get them back? I did not do anything out of the ordinary and I don't know if (an unasked for) update occurred and wiped them.

Note that you have been moved to the 115 ESR update channel since your macOS X 10.14 no longer is supported (distributionID: mozilla-mac-eol-esr115), current release require macOS 10.15 as a minimum.

This may have caused a new profile to get created, since you also wrote that all the backups are gone. Did you verify that by going to the current profile folder and go up one level?

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/

If you use the Time Machine or other backup then try to restore file(s) from this backup.
