Dear Toad-Hall First of all - Thank You very much for Your help and support. The problem is solved, I will mark it accordingly. But it was noteasy. First I did gain what You suggested. Actually all was in fact done so earlier, but I could always skip something. It was not helping. I was still receiving e-mails that I was not able to open properly. And this communicate about not recognised ID was still appearing. I downloaded the data base with ll of my previous e-mails and apply the oldest method I habve learned regarding IT. I deinstalled Thundirbird , download the newest version (which was in fact installed previously) and reinstalled again. I configured first address and IT DID START WORKING !!! E-mails were eventually comng and appearing as they should be without this strange problem with ID. Then I was adding a configuration of my next two accounts day after day. They were working too. Then I downloaded the data base of my all previous e-mails and folders to proper place in the hard drive (in my Thundirbird profile folder-Mail) and I eventually have it working as in Nov 21 and earlier. So thanks again and I am now happy :-) best regards artur

Please can you add a screenshot of the error that you see - or at least the complete and exact error text, where it is and what you were doing. A picture is best.

1. Have you checked that the account that is not in local folders is in fact configured as POP? IMAP accounts can not use the local folders account.

2. If you account is POP go to account settings > server setting, click the advanced button and change the use inbox for a different account to the local folders.

3. I looked though that extensive library of images and I see not error dialog at all.

4. They are beautiful legible screen captures of WORD, but we are not talking about word. I simply can not read the Thunderbird screens. I see red ovals around toolbars, but I see nothing odd about them. They appear to have fairly standard reply and forward buttons on them.

Basically if you are seeing an error message I can not see it. Perhaps in your placing everything in word you forgot to include it. BTW, paste your screenshots into windows paint not word, save them in the PNG format and we might stand a chance of reading them. Word is not an image program and just makes reading what you post as hard as possible for no reason.

I see a yellow warning alert at the bottom of one image but, being in Word I cannot read it. Could you provide a translation of that yellow warning?

Hi then First of all thanks everybofy for all of the support. The WORD was simply my pure way of combining text and the screen shots from thundirbird. Let me try again with paint.

It sounds like you have created 3 POP mail accounts, set up as deferred accounts - commonly known as 'Global Inbox' . All of those accounts would not appear in the Folder Pane. They would not have their own folders. All accounts would use 'Local Folders' mail account. If any account is set up as 'Server Type = IMAP' then it cannot be set up as a deferred Global Inbox account.

Information is required. Q Are all of those 3 email addresses/mail accounts created as POP mail accounts ? You can find out this info in 'Account Settings - select 'Server Settings' for account and see what is written top right for 'Server Type'.

In your image - in the Folder Pane there is a mail account seen at the top. That account is not set up as a 'Global Inbox' account. Is it a POP account? Should it be a 'Global Inbox' account? If yes:

  • Right click on mail account name folder in Folder Pane and select 'Settings'
  • Select 'Server Settings'
  • click on 'Advanced..' button
  • Select 'Inbox for different account' and Choose 'Global Inbox (Local Folders)'
  • Select checkbox: 'Include this server when getting new mail.
  • click on OK

Then check all settings for that account are set up to use Local Folders.

  • Select 'Copies & Folders'

For 'Sent', 'Archives',' Drafts' and 'Templates':

  • Select 'Other' and choose correct destination eg: 'Sent' on 'Local Folders.
  • Select 'Junk Settings'
  • Select 'Other' and choose correct destination eg: 'Junk' on 'Local Folders.

Check all your accounts to ensure all settings are correct as indicated above.

Now Exit Thunderbird and wait a few moments for background processes to complete. Then restart Thunderbird.

PS when you use Paint to create an image - please crop the image so that all that white space is removed. It makes it easier to view image.
