Thunderbird Google email locked out

After the recent update, my google calendar appears to be locked out, I can see appointments but they are all listed as just "Busy" rather than the actual appointment details and I can't add any new ones via thunderbird. I've tried unlocking it, unsubscribing and re-subscribing again but nothing seems to change it. It was working fine before and worked really well as it synched my calendar between gmail, my desktop and all my apple iPhone etc Thanks

Are you using an addon eg: Provider for Google Calendar ?

Latest version of Thunderbird has a built in ability to connect to Google Calendar.

Did you try this: disable addon, remove gmail calendar, restart Thunderbird, then add new > calendar, select 'on the network' and set up gmail calendar ?

There were reports of gmail server being down so this may have been effecting you. https://istheservicedown.co.uk/status/gmail
