When I open firefox browser, I have the one with my bookmarks. however when I click on an email link, I get a different firefox browser with a couple of bookmarks only. What is going on?

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar. How many profiles are listed? How many should be there? Also, open the profile folder in your file explorer.
