Is there a way to use a shortcut to change quickly the parameter from Colors menu "Choose elected Colors instead of those on webpage" from "always" to "never" and viceversa?

Hi Reaversword,

In the Colors options

  • Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above

selection has three choices.

You can see these in the about:config entry: browser.display.document_color_use 0 = Only with High Contrast themes 1 = Never 2 = Always

Maybe keep the about:config open in a pinned tab and modify the related pref directly ?

  • browser.display.document_color_use - Never(1) - Always(2) - Only with High Contrast themes(0)

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Yes, I know there are three options, but the point here is to toggle quickly from "custom colors" (dark environment colors in my case, when I'm working at night") from usual "normal" colors

To have an about:config page open is an option, but not much better than to have the own color settings page opened in a tab.

The way to go with this would be letting the user to stablish a shortcut.

Some way to "request a feature" or something like that?.

Thanks for the answers!

You could also make a bookmark for about:preferences and use alt+shift+c to activate the colors dialog.

There is no feature requests site, but their contact info has a "feedback" link: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/

Generally the behavior you are looking for was accomplished via extensions. e.g., https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/darkreader/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/styl-us/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=page%20color (search with "page color", "page theme", "page style", for example)

Hi Crankygoat. Thanks for the alternative methods.

I used in past to use "color toggle" addon, but I'm sure in nowdays Firefox can achieve this without addons, just a shorcut.

I've "requested" the shorcut using your link of the survey. Thanks!,

We hope the add the shorcut sooner or later.
