Hello steveray,
'Must admit that I've never seen that box before ....
I did some searching - to no avail; then took a look at your system details, which show quite a few extensions.
I checked about seven of them, to see if I could find a clue there - also to no avail.
At this point I would suggest to try Firefox in Safe Mode :
If Firefox is not running : Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running : 3-bar menu => ' ? ' (at the bottom of the dropdown) => 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Then OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click 'Start in Safe Mode' ( not 'Refresh' !)
See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
Should that mystery box not appear in Safe Mode, then you'd have to re-enable every extension one-by-one to find the culprit .....
Do you get a tooltip if you hover this box or can you click or right-click ?
If you can right-click then try to open the Inspector to see what comes up.

Just curious (as I tried seven of your extensions) : which extension was it ?
Safe Mode didn't point in that direction ?
