Hello, I found a bookmark allbbudthat appeared in my bookmark folder. I have done the edit bookmark and it didn't work. Open up all my bookmark and selected and then delete from menu. I right click on it and no delete option. I tried cut and was able to move it to another folder. I have changed the name but it reverted to the address as the name. I have even sacrificed a chicken but a little too much sage. Any ideas as to where it comes from or how to get rid of it? Like the pictures but I am no where near Boston. I am on a desktop w/ Windows 10 Pro, Firefox 66.0.5 and avast anti virus. I also use Thunderbird if that means anything. Thank You, Tim

What are its properties? What does it do?

[v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.

When done, copy and post the results here.

If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite then remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from a recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created

Note that your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts. The user.js file will only be present if you or other software has created this file and normally won't be present.

You can check its content with a text editor (right-click: "Open with"; do not double-click). The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can delete the user.js file if you didn't create this file yourself.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
