When trying to delete "From, Subject, etc.", it won't let me...WHY???
I noticed (maybe right after Firefox update?) that when I want to forward a friend's message and I proceed to delete all of the email addresses under the TO, including the lines "FROM, SUBJECT," etc. they become sort of encased within red lines that can't be deleted at all. If it isn't Firefox, where do you think it comes from please?
Thanks so much for any help in getting rid of this thing! :)
P.S. May I also know why the lines in this message go beyond the right margin? Thanks again.

We have no way to guess what email provider you use if you don't tell us.
So sorry, I have Mozilla Thunderbird, plus Dell Desktop, Win10. :) Oh, my email provider is RCN.com.

Oh thank you, I didn't know and re-posted my question at the support.mozilla.org/Thunderbird. I hope to hear from someone with a little help. :)

It's a table.
Tables have their own built in tools. Select a cell and look for tiny crosses in the outer borders. These will let you delete rows or columns, or indeed insert additional rows or columns using the adjacent arrows.
You could use an addon that reformats the message, changing the table into mere text. Look for Quote And Compose Manager, or Change Quote And Reply here:
https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/index-en.html
Alternatively, you may find that if you select the required text before clicking on "Forward", only the selected text will be included into your new message.
Thank you Zenos for the link. I followed your good advice and found this: "Forward inline message's headers without table" but it says to find it in Options and I didn't find it in Options either on the Thunderbird or Firefox pages. Any suggestions please?
Is this part of the latest Firefox update? Honestly I wish they didn't alter our emails without first asking if we want such things....I'm of the old school: "If it ain't broke don't fix it!" :)

see image as guide...it shows the small arrows used to add columns or cells; they are either side of an 'x'. The 'x' is used to remove cells, rows or even the table.

Oh thank you, but I prefer to do away with this new thing altogether rather than having to pinpoint and pick on each tiny thing in there each time I need to work on the message...
I wish someone could tell me where to find the "Options" where I can get rid of this "improvement" because I haven't seen it at all. :(
I can't remember if you use a proper computer, or something squiffy like a mac. ;-)
Go to Tools|Add-ons→Extensions. You'll find the options for most add-ons offered there. (They're labelled "preferences" in my screenshot, below, but that's because it was taken on Linux.)
A few extensions add their own entries to toolbars or drop-down menus. The calendar is unusual in that it adds its own tab to the Options dialogue, but I don't think that's relevant for these particular add-ons.
It's a shame that selecting before forwarding doesn't work. It does with printing, and replies.

LOL! I use Dell Desktop; Win10; Firefox; Thunderbird....
I thank you for the new suggestion which I hastened to follow - went to Tools etc. and the only extension I have is Avast Online Security. So I went into add-ons and after going through 6 pages of...close to 300! I thought I'd use the Search on the same page for: "Forward inline message's headers without table", but instead Google took over so I searched among those results and couldn't find anything close enough to what I need.
Why is it so terribly difficult to get rid of this headers table thing??? And why do they need the headers to be on a table??? Weird... I had never encountered such thing before, used to delete all of that header and sent the message without problem. Firefox must've just added it in its last update. I hope they know for what purpose....
Got any other suggestions? Or am I condemned to pick on those tiny things each time I forward a message? :)
Did you not try the link to the author's site I gave you earlier?
That was the first link I used Zenos, but there's so much written, I just tried to find something there that had to do with deleting the extension of headers in table format, or find that "Forward inline message's headers without table"...
Maybe it's there but I couldn't find it so I turned to the internet and I'm still trying to find how to kill it from its root!
But, thank you so very much for trying to help, really! :)
I suggest that Quote And Compose Manager will be most useful to you.
https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/quoteandcomposemanager-en.html
Here is how to install it from that site:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-addon-thunderbird
Oh thank you again but you know what....I'll just try to go click on those tiny stupid things each time, since I found some problems in downloading.
I want to really thank you for trying to help me and for all your patience. :)
I performed a test. used a suitable email and clicked on forward.
The forwarded email then showed:
-----------Forwarded Message----------
followed by a table just as you described. I positioned the cursor at the end of the last set of ------ then left hold down highlighted everything down to the line above the email intro eg: Hi
then pressed delete key and the entire table was removed. So it is possible to delete the table. The trick is to highlight from end of previous line to beyond the table down to next wanted line, so it encompasses the entire area including the table itself.

Yes, by trial and error I too found I could do that, but trouble is it deletes the entire block, and I like to leave in the last sender. I suppose I didn't try hard enough. But I do thank you so very much for testing it for me Toad-Hall, so I now know I was on the right track. :-)
I still think whoever devised this idea might not be very smart and those who approved it....even less smart for not saying more so and so.... lol!
I'm curious, what IS the purpose of making a table on the headers??? I hope the creators of this know..... Thanks again!
