Just installed Windows 10, and can not recieve mail.
Get message "Use real server address instead of 127.0.0.1" when trying to get mail from my provider Comcast. This started right after installing Windows 10. Have looked in TOOLS/Account settings and do not not see 127.0.0.1 anywhere. MY settings are OUTGOING: smtp.comcast.net and POP MAIL SERVER: mail.comcast.net. Do not see reference to 127.0.0.1 anywhere.
Any suggestions ? Paul

127.0.0.1 is what is called the loop back address. for network connections it means your own computer.
Thunderbird does use that internally, but there is no issue on my windows 10, so " I think you are looking for something that was on your old install of windows that is not on your new one. Perhaps some sort of security software that windows removed as incompatible. Or anti phishing or virus software.
