Password Mgr. is replaced by Login Mgr. Now I can't see or edit my passwords, they are obscured.
In the latest version of Firefox, 44.0b.4, Password manager is replaced by Login Manager.
In Login Mgr. I can no longer see my saved passwords, just dots instead of characters.
If I right click on a dotted password and try to edit, all I see is a Blue box not my password.
Some of these passwords will be difficult to recover.

It seems that it varies by login/password pair.
Some of my saved logins don't have saved passwords.
Those that do will display the password when I try to edit as you say, those without passwords just show a blue or white box.
I am not really a computer guy, so this change really threw me for a loop.
Thanks for your help

You can right-click a specific line and click "Copy/Edit Username" or "Copy/Edit Password". You need to have the passwords visible to have "Edit Password" enabled (Firefox 43). Double-click the Username or Password field to inspect and modify this field.
Unfortunately you can no longer see all passwords in Firefox 44 and later ("Show Passwords" is gone). This will be 'refined' via followup bug fixes.
- bug 1121291 - Remove "Show Passwords" button from password manager, add ability to show password for single logins
- bug 1208145 - Allow user to show selected passwords with a button

Can I "go back" to 43 somehow ? I really need some of those passwords.

OK, I figured out a crude workaround.
I imported all my logins and passwords to Chrome and now I can see and edit them there. Crisis averted but there has to be a better way.

Doesn't the background become white if you click the highlighted field after you have double-clicked this field to reveal the password?
I first get a blue background and white text that changes to black text on a white background if I click the field.
It is possible that you have a theme that isn't compatible with this change in the Password Manager.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You're welcome.
Weird that the logins manager stores names without a password. That would almost assume that the website runs a script that clears the password field before Firefox is saving the password because Firefox will only store this data in the Logins Password Manager when both fields are present in a form.
