When using wikimapia.org and gpxeditor.co.uk firefox performance degrades over time (after 10-15 minutes of using). It becomes slower and slower and hangs harder and harder. It doesn't matter whether secure mode or not. What's the reason? Maybe there is some JS hack to overcome these problems?

to FredMcD you know... i look at your profile and found out that you copy-paste the same "recipe" for all problems. Are you ill? Maybe something gruesome has happened in your life? Or maybe it's so useless that "Top 10 Contributor" label is the best achievement it can be dedicated to?

Did you try Firefox Safe Mode?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can also check for problems caused by other (security) software.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

guga50 It sounds like you are ill. Stupidity, I think.

If you had checked my postings, I do not give the same answer to every question. And if you had checked my profile, you would have noticed over 300 users marked my answers as solving their problems.

Ok. I found something. The problem caused by bloating of this script http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js/ViewportInfoService.GetViewportInfo Both sites use it. When i block it - problem is gone. Hey developers! Maybe it worth to have a look.

to FredMcD >> "Sensors detecting hostility. Closing Hailing Channels." How old are you, child?

Actually this was not the "full solution". Performance continues to degrade but with much slower pace. there is something wrong with FF js engine.
