Why does Abine not work with Firefox 24?
This is a reoccurring problem for me, I download the latest version of FF only to find out that my password program, Abine Privacy Suite 0.753, a Mozilla extension, is not compatible with the update! I have had this problem since I have been using FireFox, at least 9 years now, and I had to do a "restore" on my computer each time to take the OS back to a time prior to downloading the update from FF in order to have all of my logins and passwords available. I use quite a number of passwords and login names for added security and I keep track of them solely through the Privacy Suite extension, which means that, if you release a new FF update and have not made the Privacy Suite compatible with the update, I have no record of logins nor do I have any record of any of my passwords that I don't happen to remember!!
I feel this is unfair to your faithful users of FF if you don't take the time to iron out all the obvious bugs in an update before making it available to the user public. I understand that it is a beta program and, as such, is susceptible to bugs and bad code, but this is a standard extension that has been available for use through FF for years now. At least ensure that all of your standard offerings which are available to make use of the FF program an enjoyable experience work in the update before releasing it to the public.

hello Old Clockguy, please understand that it is the sole responsibility of the extension's developer (abine in this case) to update/adapt its addon for new versions of firefox in case this should be necessary. mozilla releases new versions of the browser on a fixed schedule and makes early development builds available to the public months ahead, so this can't be a surprise to any third-party developer who is offering a product that hooks into the browser.
in case you're having repeated issues with that addon in particular, you could use firefox built-in password manager as well: Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox

Unfortunately this is down to the app maker and not Mozilla to update their plugins. You'd need to contact the app maker for support about that.

Thanks guys, I began to wonder where the onus of responsibility originated when there was more than one business involved. I will contact the programmers at Abine and see if they have any words of wisdom on this problem.

Well, it has been over 4 months and at least 2 more updates for FF and I still am stuck on v.23.01, I got no real answers from Abine mainly because I got NO replies whatsoever from them in three attempts to communicate with them. And I STILL cannot get Abine to operate on any of the FF updates as they were released.
In each case, as I updated to the new version of FF, my Abine Privacy Suite was disabled. I imagine that the intermediate versions of FF between v. 23.01 and the latest v.27.x may have the Privacy Suite enabled as an extension by now.
My question to you now is, can I find a link on Mozilla which will allow me to pick and choose among the later updates of FF until I locate the very latest one which will allow me to use the Privacy Suite AND that version of FF? I really don't want to switch over to another login/password storage program simply because I have become accustomed to using Abine and I have almost 200 different login passwords, I am a firm believer in NOT using "Rover" or "12345" as my one and only password and hence, I try to use something different for each website login password and cryptic enough to thwart the usual attempts to do any code breaking by hackers. This variety of passwords makes it unlikely that a hacker will easily get into my "interior" but it also makes it extremely difficult (read IMPOSSIBLE!) for this old guy to remember even a fraction of the passwords I have accumulated! For a "sharp" 71 year old mind, mine appears to have a few dull edges so I need all the help I can muster to keep this mess in alignment.
Any help or hints or tips?? Keep up the wonderful work on FF and remember that I am one of your charter backers going back to when Mozilla was a "freaky" name that many thought was a new type of dinosaur game online!!
