I have 800 names in gmail. I have people from many different states in America. I want to send emails to individual people in specific states, without having to do it each time. Windows Explorer allowed me to have "groups."

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
