Have Spotfy, Facebook App on home computer, trying to open on laptop and get this ERROR CODE: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (spotify) isn't associated with any program. How can I fix?
I have used Spotfy Music App on Facebook on my home computer, now trying to use on laptop, and i get this ERROR CODE: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (spotify) isn't associated with any program. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,
You may have to install the Spotify application on the laptop to get Spotify protocols recognized.
In order to get the spotify protocol recognized you need to change your firefox configuration:
1) go to about:config (in the URL bar) 2) bypass the warning 3) add the following values:
* STRING -> network.protocol-handler.app.spotify = /usr/bin/spotify (or the path to your spotify application, ie, for example c:/program files (x86)/spotify/spotify.exe under windows, or so I suspect) * BOOLEAN -> network.protocol-handler.expose.spotify = false * BOOLEAN -> network.protocol-handler.external.spotify = true
4) clic again on a link pointing to the spotify protocol (do not directly enter it in the url bar.) 5) choose the location to your app.
It seems that firefox is now ignoring the path given in the about config panel, anyway this configuration worked for me on linux Kubuntu 12.04
I'll test it next monday monday in windows.
