My grand daughter pressed all the buttons today & since then a voice has started on my computer. Would it be something that blind people would use ? as she has just pressed a btton relating to that ?

You have switch on the VoiceOver accessibility feature (System Preferences -> Speech;(fn) Cmd-F5)
