problem updating firefox with old avg virus protector

hi i have tried to update to your newer version of firefox ( excisting one running fine ) but when i try to i get a warning saying will not run without deleting my avg protection and is not compatable ( this being an older version too as i run on windows 2000 professional. my computer is old . the way i read the message is that updating will cancel out my avg and i will then have to find another protector ??? . can i run on the older firefox and will it keep in excistance?? i hope i have explained this ok thanx colin

hi as i said in my question windows 2000 professional CANNOT ACCOMODATE the latest AVG. I TRIED THIS A FEW TIMES AND CANNOT ACCEPT.
