Why does firefox suddenly look like a cartooon (http://i52.tinypic.com/pssit.jpg) . I have tried a completely blank profile and re-installed Firefox and it still looks that way.
One day after restarting firefox the entire look of firefox went wierd (see http://i52.tinypic.com/pssit.jpg). i can't seem to get it to go back to normal. I've deleted EVERYthing I could find referring to mozilla on my computer then reinstalled firefox and it still looks this way. No other application looks like this and I have no themes other than the default installed. How do I get firefox back to normal?
UPDATE: I discovered it was caused by cleartext problems. You can either manually configure the cleartext settings in firefox, or turn off "hardware accelleration" in the options menu (Options->advanced->General->Browsing)

I think I figured it out too, I went to about:config filtered on "render" then turned gfx.font_rendering.cleartype.always_use_for_content;true and gfx.font_rendering.cleartype.use_for_downloadable_fonts;false not sure what the other settings do but it seems to have switched off Firefox's own rendering

It looks find to me. So I assume you are talking about the menu bar. Right click the Toolbar area and select the Menu bar.
Nah I'm referring to the fact that the text looks like it's hand drawn rather than rendered and the tab title borders aren't straight. But eventually i worked out it was a cleartext problem caused by the forced update to FF6 and found the appropriate settings to hack to make text rendering work correctly. I've updated the question to reflect this :)
