Some Bookmark thumbnails are not showing up

I'd like to have all my bookmarks on my toolbar have an associated thumbnail picture, but some of them are little white boxes. It appears the sites I visit most often have a working thumbnail, but even some sites I have visited recently do not have a thumbnail picture. I am talking about the little symbol beside the bookmark, not a picture of the website.

I do not have private browsing on. I do have the XMarks Add-on. I think this problem started when I reorganized my XMarks profiles.
