Fire fox won't let me view a PDF File on screen . I have the " Always ask me where to save files" button checked

A couple of days ago I was downloading several PDF files. I changed my setting to save them to a folder. Previous to that I could just open them and view them and then save them if I wanted. I am using Adobe reader 8
