I recently did a complete os reinstall of Windows 7, and am having trouble restoring my bookmarks. I have tried the fixes I found, but none seem to apply to my situation.

How did you back up your bookmarks?

Did you save the old places.sqlite file? Or do you have a JSON backup? Or did to export your bookmarks in HTML format?

The "format" your bookmarks were saved determines how that file is "restored" into Firefox. If you can't see the file extension for the file you have saved, open it in a text program like Notepad and copy the first line (or part of the first line) into this forum thread and we should be able to tell you what format that file is, and how to get that data back into Firefox.
