I have another kind of problem with Firefox

Description

We're experiencing a strange issue involving Firefox 3.6 and Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.

The symptom is that some (not all) downloads from client workstations (XP, Vista, and Win7) are being corrupted when the download location is set to a mapped network drive on a Windows SBS 2008 server. Both server and workstations are running SEP 12.

If the download option is set to "Always ask...", the download is not corrupt even if we select the same location. If it's set to "Save files to:", the download will be corrupt.

If we configure a folder exception in the SEP client on the server (to prevent AV scanning of this directory), the files do not get corrupted.

However, without an exception configured, both MSIE and Google Chrome can download to the mapped network drive location without experiencing any kind of corruption.

Any ideas?

I would like to confirm this bug still exists in Firefox 4.0.1. Also, I believe the original poster meant to say Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, since version 12 is still beta and the original post was from a year ago. This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer.
