after reinstall of Firefox 75 version, old extension won't load or run, some pages refuse to sent extension file to open

New version of Firefox (75) reinstall will not accept old extensions I ran on previous version, example ublock.org, duckduck privacy essentials. Some pages out and out block or don't even show the extensions exist? Other pages will send files to download but will not open or run? Very Frustrating, spending hours going down rabbit holes. I very much need and use those extensions, another pop-up will say " ublock.org is not allowed to run on version of Firefox version 75" insanity. please send a link to these extension so I can use them on Firefox ? PLEASE pilthm816@gmail.com ( Linux Ubuntu system) both these extensions ran on it before without a problem.

There is no new Firefox 75. The authentic Firefox 75 was released in April 2020. If you just installed it now, I have to wonder why?

I suggest uninstalling it and installing the latest version from your package manager or from Mozilla.

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

After you get back on a current release, you can switch profiles using the following steps:

Profile Manager Page

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

This page should list at least two profiles and could list more. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)

The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:

This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.

Check each of the other profile(s) listed on this page to see which is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.

If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.

If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.

Hope you get back to normal soon.

You need update or add to the package manager source links as the Linux distro you have is outdated with the Firefox 75.0 is comes with. Whether from Mozilla PPA repository or Ubuntu repository. ex: https://idroot.us/install-firefox-ubuntu-20-04/

As you can see there has been many Firefox releases https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ since Fx 75.0

Since you mentioned Ubuntu, I am guessing you have the old Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (released April 23, 2020) which comes with Firefox 75.0 if you do not do any updates after Linux install.

James, thanks for help, I can get an idea of what I should do (from your post) ...... (this a rant) but I am not savvy enough, to even find the latest version of Firefox or one that works with Ubuntu. The closest i Live to real tech help (people that know and work with Linux) is 6 hours away. At my age I can't handle these deep drives into all these software twists and turns, what is the latest and what you should do. Its just too over whelming. Why would I be able to find this old version of Firefox 75 and download it? Why is it still out there and not disabled with warnings on it? It wiped out my book marks, lost files, and it took a day to get it back functioning with the things I use. 10 -15 years ago this stuff was so easy, you just pushed a couple buttons followed very simple instructions and everything was working the way you wanted? Now there's stack exchange that helps no one because you need a PHD in how to ask a question they prefer you to ask, there is no help there just a bunch of people trying to prove there more smarter and complicated than the next guy. Its insanity. 90 percent of the terminal commands you read about in blogs don't work, 90% of the videos for help from India with your software, are scams wanting load junk. nobody tells you that to reinstall your Ubuntu that you have to 'mount it' ? You have to spend two days trying to figure out why it isn't working. Guys like jscher2000 are an example of ' look how smart I am " but have no idea of how much damage they do. I don't get off on this crap. I'm a computer user, but have no desire, to learn how to fix things five different ways, just tell me the simplest way that works, If I can't do it I take to a tech that can. I posted a job offer on a major internet service provider to re-install my system ....... any price I'd pay for the travel. My ad job offer was removed? Without the extensions like ublock.org and duck privacy ess. My system gets data dumped 2.5mb every time I turn it on. What little privacy you can try and run is worthless, the whole thing is an f-ing nightmare. So pissed off at this stuff its total BS

I'm sorry, what damage did I do? If I wasn't clear, you could ask for clarification. Thankfully, James is more familiar with Linux than I am (I'm a Windows user).

If you haven't already, you could ask about updating on a Ubuntu community like one of these sites:
