Extra white space after unicode apostrophe

Noticed recently weird spaces in random-ish places on some websites.

Generally ignored it but recently noticed it on hacker news, and decided to investigate.

Made test case: https://depesz.com/ff-bug.html

In chrome it displays OK, but in Firefox, there is extra white space after apostrophe.

When I looked into it, it looks that it's not normal, ascii, apostrophe, but unicode character "RIGHT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK" (U+2019).

Any idea on what could be wrong?

I'm using FF 82.0.2, from Ubuntu, on Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS.
