If you do the following, you can change the units from inches to millimetres:
- Type
about:config
in the Firefox address bar to open the Configuration Editor. - Bypass the warning (we'll be careful, I promise).
- Search for
print_paper_size_unit
. - Depending on how many printers you have installed on your computer, you may get multiple preferences for each printer. Double click each one to change the value to
1
(for millimetres) or0
(for inches). - Restart Firefox.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, but I already tried that. I have also reset the printer settings.

The last line I find troubling. If the settings are saved correctly from the printer driver software you shouldn't have to change them. So did you uinstall and reinstall the printer driver software. Any settings lost would indicate software issue.
Hmm, Firefox must be taking its cue from somewhere... Does it matter whether your printer is set to use 8.5 x 11 inch paper vs. A4 paper?
The printer is set to A4 and it working from Internet Explorer and Chrome, but not Firefox, which is used by the customer.
Hi mrfred2000, I can only compare my experience.
I have Firefox set to its default behavior of remembering settings from the last print job (print.save_print_settings=true). The Page Setup dialog displays units based on the last paper size I printed to. For example:
After printing to Letter paper, the Page Setup dialog uses inches. The first screenshot shows that dialog and some related about:config settings.
After printing to A4 paper, the Page Setup dialog switches to showing millimeters. The second screenshot shows that dialog and some related about:config settings.
