I'm looking for a better way to re-create my various web research projects/history

Where did I see that article on XYZ. I'd like to regain a train of thought/investigation. Is bookmarks and history all there is? In reading about "Activity Stream" this seemed like the solution but it seems to lack an awareness of clustered, goal-directed activity. Is "Top Sites" and "Highlights" all there is to Activity Stream? Looking for some deeper integration/intelligence around re-displaying my history.

Basically, yes. Top Sites is limited to like 6 "sites" (depending upon the horizontal screen resolution) and you can add a 2nd row to double the number of "sites". And "Highlights" is a very limited display or recently visited sites or recent bookmarked sites.

Rather than relying upon browsing history, I would suggest that you bookmark each research web page that you visit when you visit the page and use the Tag feature for each project so that you can retrieve each project thru the Bookmarks Manager > Library window. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/categorizing-bookmarks-make-them-easy-to-find
