Cannot delete a bookmark following the instructions
I followed the instruction on how to delete a bookmark but the deletion does not occur. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I followed the suggestion in your second e-mail and after a bit of trial and error it does seem to work.
Thanks - I appreciate it - if only the rest of the world was as friendly and helpful as the tech community we would be in good shape.
Thanks again.

Hi TREBMALTS, what are the steps you are following?
Note that your bookmarks menu/toolbar has a couple special "smart bookmark folders" that show search results. They are identified with a special blue folder icon (with a magnifying glass). Some of those behave a bit differently from normal bookmarks.
Also, do you use Sync? I think some users have reported bookmarks retained in their Sync account got pushed back onto a device, but I can't recall the details.
The steps I am following are to open the bookmarked page, click on the star icon on the right hand side of the tool bar and then click on the box that says " Remove this Benchmark."
But the bookmarked page is not deleted.
I should add that I am a very low tech guy and I did not understand much of what was in your initial response.
Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
How about trying it a different way. Open Firefox's Library dialog using either of these:
- Command+Shift+b (keyboard shortcut)
- Bookmarks menu > Show All Bookmarks
In the upper right of the Library dialog, there is a search box. Enter part of the name or address of the bookmark you want to delete to call up matching bookmarks. When you see the one you want to get rid of, click it and press the Delete key on your keyboard, or right-click/Ctrl+click it and choose Delete from the right-click context menu.
Success?
