Type about:plugins<enter> in the address bar. Now search for the plugin.

Example; Adobe Acrobat File: nppdf32.dll,nppdf32.dll Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\browser\nppdf32.dll,C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AIR\nppdf32.dll Version: 11.0.9.29 State: Enabled Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.9

This will show you the path to that program. Copy the Path Only. Also, note the name of the file, and remember it. Now Close Firefox. Open your file browser and paste the path in the address bar. Find the file, and delete it. Now you can restart Firefox. Warning ! Remember to delete the right program.

To be safe, remove all of them. Then install the current.

You should not have gone thru all that. The player is outside Firefox.

Your System Details shows;

Installed Plug-ins

Shockwave Flash 9.0 r16 Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0
Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 21.0.0.242 Flash Player (Linux) Version 11.2.202.621

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download.

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download.

naW I DID uninstall first .. the Uninstallers don't see flash 9 anywhere.

AND just tried your links (heY cool)..BUT nope they say I only got 21 too!

Mozilla is the ONLY program that says there's a Flash 9

I've eradicated any folder I could find that it'd be hiding in AND deleted every instance of any left over flash I could find Deleted every mention I could find in the registry .

What ""data-file"" does Mozilla Look At to check on the Flash versions???

I Even erased those lines from the registry that said.... MIME Types / application/x-shockwave-flash (Adobe Flash movie: swf)

                         application/futuresplash (Futuresplash movie: spl)

(Even though they didn't really Exist in the computer itself ..and Mozilla STILL says those lines exist ..which just means it's looking at an old incorrect Data file that if I delete would get rewritten or I could reinstall)

(I was guessing it was the registry..it looked like maybe it was the mime.dat file or something judging from an old post somewhere) (something in the System32 folder??)

Sure, Firefox see's both versions of Flash. Firefox is the only program that you have installed that uses the Plugin version of Flash. IE would use the ActiveX version and Chrome (and other WebKit-based browsers) used the Pepper version of Flash. And what other programs, beyond web browsers, use Flash?

to FredMcD IT WORKED!! .. YAAAAAY! ThankyoU ThankyoU !

WOW ..the NPSWF.dll was hiding in a freakin PDF viewer I downloaded a while back (to edit pdfs with) (PDF X viewer?) in a folder called Tracker Software (..but theoretically not a virus etc.)

(The Firefox Ad-ons manager etc. from the corner-menu gave an old completely incorrect non-existant path.)

I dunno if the viewer Confiscated an original NPSWF.dll file from somewhere and Firefox followed it over? OR if I just installed the pdf viewer and for some reason Firefox looked and started to Assume it was a Flash Video program??

Anyway thankyou thankyou again

(And to the-edmeister..naW Windows sees the Flash 21 I installed right there in the [install/remove programs] list ..plus it's in the registry and other listings etc.)
