Why starts a inbedded video on a not active tab?
Firefox 44.0.2 for Mac
Operating system: Mac OS X 10.10.5
Installed plugins:
- Adobe® Acrobat® Plug-in for Web Browsers, Version 15.009.20069
- Provides information about the default web browser
- Displays Java applet content, or a placeholder if Java is not installed.
- Shockwave Flash 20.0 r0
Preferences are set very restrictive for Privacy and also in the "General" section I activated the "Don't load tabs until selected" Option. From my "Results of a Search" tab I ctrl-click 1, 2, 3 and more URLs to new Tabs and after many seconds I hear a Music ??? So I check on the opened tabs and there is a Video running on one of them, without my "start-click"! Is this right? I mean this must be not possible when I have my preferences set "Don't load tabs until selected". Is this a Bug?
Please investigate

Hi, So by default embedded media plays automatically. Change this in the about:config entry option: In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :
- In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
- Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
- Search for media.autoplay.enabled and double click on it to make sure its set to false.
- Reload the page and vuella
Hi guigs,
I just tested this, but it dosnt works on the signlized url. You can also try.
ciao
I also did this and it still played. My apologies, it did not do that before. I looked up if you could code in the embedded jwplayer autoplay and you actually can: https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1428525-autostarting-on-page-load
It might be the site. I attached where I found it in the page. Talk to the site owner as well.
There was a work around suggested here as Flashblock or noscript add ons that might be useful: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29277598-Firefox-How-to-stop-JW-Player-on-websites
