on my laptop whenever i select firefox i am given something called Bing and I don't know what it is.

Hi, Bing is Microsoft's search engine. I am suspicious that your extension McAfee WebAdvisor 4.0.16 might be causing the problem, so try temporarily disabling it - Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions.

You can also try resetting you search and home page, by running the add-on SearchReset.
