Get error message, Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.
I attempted to refresh FF because some things weren't working on some websites. I'm afraid I stopped the refresh before it was complete. Now I can't get FF to run, id doesn't recognize my password, it won't sent me a link to change my password. In short I'm completely cut off from Firefox. I do get the message "your firefox profile cannot be loaded. It maybe missing or inaccessible" but when I try to follow up on the help page it seems to always want a username and password, which I don't remember. I've tried to re-download FF at least twice but keep getting that error message when I try to open it.

Please don't make any changes at this point. Definitely avoid Windows system restore at all costs.
Do you have an Old Firefox Data folder on the desktop? Your old (missing) settings folder might be in there. Or it might be in its original location here in your user folder. A shortcut for opening that location is to type or paste the following in the Windows Start menu search box and press Enter:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
There you may find one or more folders with semi-random names. Do any of them seem to have files with time stamps that immediately pre-date your Refresh.
I meant to add: next steps depend on where you find your settings folder.
Hello, I don't known if jscher2000 agree (i always respect the experience and knowledge), but i think you have to find the profiles.ini file and delete it (to force firefox to create a new profile) .
thank you
If the old profile folder is still in place in the AppData\Roaming location then you can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and browse to the location of that profile to re-register this profile in the Profile Manager.
See:
If the profile already has been moved to the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop (more likely) then you need to create a new profile and manually recover your personal data from the profile in the "Old Firefox Data" folder.
