Downloading files automatically without dialog box

Hey everyone,

I am using "Firefox 33" for "Windows 7" and I am downloading a file "CSV" format from a secured website which requires authentication to log in. Now, while downloading the file, I am presented with the dialog box prompting me to click on "OK" or "Cancel" besides other options which let me alter the default download location of the file. I want the file to get downloaded automatically without my intervention (the way it happens in Google Chrome browsers).

I tried searching about this problem online and found some fixes to it such as:

Setting "browser.download.panel.show" set to "False". Previously, it was "True" Setting "browser.download.animateNotifications" set to "False". Previously, it was "True"

But still the problem persists.

"Do this automatically for files like this from now on." option is greyed out and I can't check it. Searching about this led me to this: Is "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" disabled? This can happen if the website's server incorrectly specifies the Internet Media type of the file. It also can happen if the server assigns "Content-Disposition: attachment" to the file.

Is there a way around this?

It is possible to Reset Firefox or to try a new profile. It is possible that the mimetypes file in the profile became corrupt.

Please Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles to try a new profile to see if it still happens, this will rat out the mimetype file.

If it continues, do you have an antivirus or a firewall that might affect how the file type is handled?

Hey guigs2, i deleted my default profile in Firefox and created a new profile. I then proceeded to download the file but alas! the problem still persists.

The button for "Do this automatically for files like this from now on is still greyed out (I have attached the screenshot of the dialog box). I tried saving the file twice so that Firefox recognizes the ".csv" file that was being downloaded but the problem remains unchanged.

Please suggest a workaround or a solution.
