I have always been able to keep multiple tabs open, but now can't open more than one tab?
I have always been able to keep multiple tabs open while working, but by mistake yesterday when I closed firefox I forgot to save all tabs before quitting. Now I can't open multiple tabs....only one.

go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. You can enable the Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.
This issue can be caused by the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)
Your system details show that toolbar in the user agent as AskTbMTV/3.12.2.16749
