Using Windows XP, updated Java to the latest version, am running Firefox V4.0.1 in 98/Me compatibility mode. Windows Task Master/Processes reports that Firefox IS running, and consuming 50% of the CPU cycles, but nothing can be sen on the screen. Help!

Windows 98/ME doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to run Firefox 4. See http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html
