Firefox 3.6+ runs slow, bogs down and hangs frequently
Ever since I upgraded to versions 3.6+ firefox runs slow, bogs down and and hangs frequently. this happens most when downloading files, switching tabs and has been running more than about ten minutes but is an overall stability issue. I've tried some of the fixes mentioned elsewhere and they do not help. I also tried disabling plugins that might affect things - all to no avail.

I have relied heavily on firefox in the past, but more and more, I find myself using Chrome because it's fast, clean and reliable. It's addon features are beginning to approach the same usefulness as firefox.
I suspect the slowness and bogging down has something to do with addon conflicts - primarily with noscript, but cannot be sure. Whatever the cause, the symptoms are identical to those of the original anonymous poster.
If eighty-five people have alerted Mozilla of the problem, I wonder how many that translates into as actually having the problem.
Mozilla team - there are other similar posts about this - we would be grateful for a fix.
This post was first put up 11 months ago, and apparently it has not been fixed yet. I have loved Firefox but am now pulling my hair out while I wait for the NOT RESPONDING box to shut down all the time. Maybe it's time to switch to Chrome. Sorry Firefox. Let me know when you get this straightened out and I might be back.
