Hi Volker, could you try this: After downloading the file, open the Downloads list using either: * Click the downloads button on the toolbar * Press Ctrl+J to open the full list Right-click the database file and try "Always Open Similar Files" if that is available. This should create an entry for the relevant content-type in the Applications list on the Settings page set to open MDB files in the system default application. Sometimes, the server does not send Firefox an Access-specific Content-Type header (like "application/vnd.msaccess") and instead sends either the generic binary Content-Type ("application/octet-stream") that Firefox can't limit to one file type or a fictitious Content-Type (like "application/x-download"). In these cases, Firefox usually cannot connect the download to your system settings for .mdb files. I have an add-on to address that situation if needed.
