Hmm, are you possibly using a Private Browsing Mode?

Thank you for your response. No, I don't use private browsing (see screenshot from my Firefox settings). The issue doesn't occur on all websites, just some. Unfortunately, I can't specify it further.

Do you normally save your login details on Firefox for Android? The only thing I can think about that may trigger the Unlock Firefox prompt is when user is about to access saved data like password, address, or credit card details.
