Hi, firefox deleted my history after an update. The only browsing history i have left is yesterday and today since after the update. My bookmarks and the session i was in were still there.

I only have one profile. i dont have a index.dat file unter C:\Users\<myname>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. Any data recovery tools cannot find one either. about:cache only shows me the history after the update.

I dont know what to do and now i've lost my history of the last about 8 years. Does anyone have an idea?

You can try checking the shadow copies of your Firefox profile folder using Windows File History or System Restore. Also, look in about:profiles to see if another profile was created during the update. If nothing works, data recovery software might help, but chances are limited.
