e mails with attachments suddenly disappeared

Suddenly I appear to have stopped receiving any e mails into Inbox, that have attachments. But, if i click on the icon that says show attachments only they all show up, so i have received them but they are just not displaying normally in Inbox.

if you are clicking the icon in the list heading, you are sorting your messages by attachment. Try clicking on date to reset the sort to that default. A second click reverses sort order.
