I successfully setup a primary email address on Thunderbird and have been unsuccessful in effort to add e additional email addresses to Thunderbird. I have attempted to use the add email feature to add other addresses even though the feature seems to accept the addresses entered. I expected tdihe added account. When attempting to re-enter I am told the server is already setup. I expected the new addresses to be displayed on the tree that shows the primary address. But no added accounts are displayed. What steps am I leaving out?

are you adding pop accounts perhaps? They do not necessarily appear on the folder pane, instead being directed to the Local folders account by default.
