Lightening calendar not populated on opening.

When I open Thunderbird Calendar my appt.s/tasks are not populated. I need to toggle off then toggle on to re-populate the appointments. How do I open Lightening with the appt.s/tasks populated.

Am using version TB 78.6.0.

Are you suing the Provider add-on to access a Google calendar? If so, try removing the add-on, restarting TB, and re-installing the add-on (or, disable and re-enable the add-on).
