If possible, it's always best to try to backup your Firefox profile folder. See Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data.

Firefox Sync should be able to reload your data if the data is stored on there, but Firefox Sync isn't intended to be a data backup service and sometimes works very unreliably as one.
