I want to remove one of the tools from my toolbar and the instuctions taking me to "add ons" is a non-starter, so what is the simple way to do this?

I once stumbled trial-and-error onto the easy peasy way to do this. All my searches keep taking me to complex "solutions" that are not cutting it.

I don't know whether you have a right mouse button, but using either right-click (or on Mac, Ctrl+click) on a toolbar button or control should give you a short context menu with the option to Remove from Toolbar.

Warning: You cannot remove items embedded in the address bar without removing the whole address bar.

If something goes wrong:

  • Some add-ons keep forcing their buttons back onto the bar. Annoying, but I don't know of a way to block them from doing so.

Success?
