On June 24th Yahoogroups started to give an error message when trying to access groups I've been on for years. Same thing on three computers.

The error message was:-

====================

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

   This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
====================

I've been on these groups for years with no problems and suddenly this happens.

Graham,

I too was having the issue. It seems that is an issue with cookies. So what I did to solve the issue was to do the following (I am using Firefox 30.0 with the add-on to make it look like the old Firefox):

  1. Go to Options (either with the Button or Tools->options)
  2. Click on the Privacy Tab
  3. Click on Remove Individual Cookies
  4. I removed all cookies but that may not be necessary to do as you could just remove the Yahoo cookies to get back to the Yahoo Groups.
  5. Went back to Yahoo Groups and was able to get to my groups.

I hope this helps.

It appears this is a Yahoo Groups problem. Please go to their User Feedback forum (aka Uservoice) and vote 3 votes and give a comment on this asking them to fix it. Please read the comment from Shal underneath the complaint to see what is going on.

This is the link: https://yahoo.uservoice.com/forums/209451-us-groups/suggestions/6106799-cannot-access-yahoo-groups-through-mozilla

The more people vote, the higher the ranking for this problem and hopefully the sooner they will fix it.
