After the update on the 14th, dark mode has gained weird stylistic choices that I cannot find a way to alter: namely, when closing a new tab, a white box with black font appears -as opposed to the previous darker toned grey/purple with white font. However as of writing this post, I notice that dark mode is not working on this webpage. Seeing as I have an extension enabled in addition to the basic dark mode selection in Firefox settings, I can only imagine that something was broken in the update. Please advise, the change is jarring.

For example, this code in userChrome.css will work for showing a custom favicon on the bookmarks toolbar:

.bookmark-item[label="Bookmark"] image {

   width:0!important;
   height:0!important;
   padding: 0 0 16px 16px !important;
   background:url(custom-icon.png)!important;
   background-size: 16px !important;

}

However, after a recent update, if the bookmark is located inside a folder, the custom favicon will not be displayed and it will revert to the websites favicon.

See the attached image example of a bookmark on the toolbar vs. inside a folder.

So my question is Firefox is on my Cent OS 10 machine and it only shows the close button on the upper right corner, I would like to know two things, 1. How to add the Minimize, Fullscreen buttons to just the close button on the upper right corner. 2. How to get my menu bar back - the home button and all of the other goodies that normally show on the left of the browser just above the Forward, back and refresh buttons?

Thanks in advance for the help.

So, whenever you open/close the application menu, it fades in/out respectively. It's super disgusting I don't even know why it's not disabled when I have animation effects turned off on Windows. like bruh

This actually happens on multiple UI thingies, I just realized. -_- So if there's a way to disable all these terrible things I'm open to it. (ignore the reply i made, i didn't realize i can edit my question 😹)

I have attached a snip of my Firefox GUI.

Glaring white backgrounds in webpage GUIs are, simply, a Pain in the Eyes! I like to get rid of them and I have done for the webpage text background you can see in the image. Now, what I would like to be able to do is to set the same colour as the text background in the URL window and the Bookmarks window.

Is this possible? How is it done?

Thanks

MacOS 26.0.1 Tahoe Firefox 143.0.4 (aarch64)

There is a white border around the webpage content in the browser (screenshot attached). This border exists even in troubleshooting mode, with all extensions disabled, regardless of toolbars or theme, etc. The only place it does not appear is the about: pages (screenshot attached). I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and updated MacOS. The issue disappears when I quit and reopen Firefox but reappears when I resize the window. Is there some obvious checkbox setting I'm missing? I cannot figure out what is causing this. Thanks for any help.
