Hi. In Firefox versions newer than 153.0.4, I can't connect to my camera when I'm away from home. I see that the message about accepting the PLUGIN has changed a bit, and now a prompt to grant permissions pops up near the search bar. I think this problem occurred about 1.5 years ago. The camera is a FOSCAM, and I have the plugin from their website installed.

Interestingly, in Firefox versions newer than 154.0, I can log in and manage the camera via the web, but only on localhost at home :) The plugin prompt appears, and everything works fine.

Unfortunately, accessing it from outside my home doesn’t work, even though the camera’s login page loads. After entering my username and password, I get a “TIME OUT” message from the browser.

I’ve tried everything—creating a clean new profile, etc. Starting with version 153.0.4, you can only log in via localhost; otherwise, only the login page loads, and you get a “TIMEOUT” error after entering your username and password.

Please forgive me if I’m posting this in the wrong place, but I’m not very up-to-date and I’m using a translator.

Best regards.

I am a long time (decades) user of Firefox. Over the years you have gradually increased your security measures. I have adapted, two-factor, etc, having no choice. But recently (last 6 months or so) I have been UNABLE to sign into motel networks. There used to be a "accept" option to bypass the security issues mentioned in this write-up. That bypass is no longer available.

We travel a lot for long weekends and this situation, not being able to sign-in and use my computer for a full weekend, is UNTENABLE to me. If you can not fix this problem, I will have NO choice but to end using Firefox and switch to another browser. Chuck

The CGNAT (RFC6598, 100.64.0.0/10) address space is currently included as part of the local network. I need to exclude this space from being considered "local", as I need CGNAT to not be blocked, but the standard RFC1918 addresses do need to be blocked.

I have attempted to put just the RFC1918 addresses into network.lna.address_space.private.override, but that didn't have any affect, and putting the CGNAT into the network.lna.address_space.public.override didn't work either. I cannot find documentation on these fields so I have no clue how to use them.

And by put them in, I put in standard CIDR notation, comma delimited, so: 192.168.0.0/16,172.16.0.0/12,10.0.0.0/8.

This problem is encountered with Firefox 157.0.1 (aarch64) under MacOS.

The best solution would be for there to be an option in the standard preferences panel to exclude CGNAT from being considered local, as I think many home users are using the RFC1918, and not the CGNAT space.

Thank you for your help.

I am using Windows 10 . I have MS Edge as well as FireFox browsers installed. I just recently installed Thunderbird.

Since I used FireFox and turned FireFox VPN on and then off (after about 15 minutes) I cannot connect to some websites like rockauto.com using FireFox or MS Edge. If I turn FireFox VPN back on I can connect to these sites (rockauto.com is only one example) just fine. But if I exit FireFox and go to use MS Edge -- I cannot access the websites at all, they timeout.

What gives?
