Hi Mozilla support Having used MetOffice daily forecasts for many years, 3 days ago it stopped working on my desktop. I still have Windows 7 but always the latest version of Firefox, and everything else works fine in Firefox (including other weather forecast websites thankfully). A page of Met Office headings appears instead of the forecast.

I emailed them yesterday and this is the reply: 'To see the public website in the previously recognised format, you would need to upgrade the browser version you are using or the Operating System of your device. This issue is affecting users on unsupported mobile devices (phones/tablets) as well as those on PCs and Laptops with unsupported software on them. As per our Met Office Website Policy page - which details the level of support we offer and to which browsers – we currently only support the latest two versions of Chrome and Safari; the latest version of Edge and Samsung Internet; finally the latest version of Firefox only being partially supported. This policy has been developed to comply with the World Wise Web Consortium (W3C) AA Accessibility Standards. It also details the Decision Tree of which versions would continue to be supported or no longer supported We appreciate this may be frustrating, but without updating or replacing this unsupported software/hardware you will be unable to view the public weather website in the correct format.'

Since it says 'the latest version of Firefox only being partially supported' I guess there is nothing else I can do to access their forecast (apart from getting new PC and using Windows 11, which I will be doing later this year). Kind regards, Katy

Yesterday, I had Firefox open and running perfectly fine, and I had forgotten to shut down my laptop before closing it. Today, when I reopened my laptop, the Firefox window that was open instantly closed. I tried opening Firefox again, but it kept opening and closing immediately. It would show that there was an open window of it, but the window itself wouldn't open. It would run in the background but never actually open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still did the same thing. Does anyone know a solution to this?

I have been using the new tab group feature a lot over the past few weeks. Today I realized with horror that only the three most recently used tab groups are displayed when I click on the arrow icon “Open all tab groups”. The missing tab groups are very important to me. I hope someone can help me.

Hello.

I use Firefox on an computer with Ubuntu, (installed as snap) and have noticed that since the update to version 140 (specifically, version 140.0 canonical-002-1.0), closing a tab causes a noticeable delay : that is, upon any action that would close a tab (clicking on the cross, pressing CTRL+w, or middle clicking), there is a delay of about 200 to 300 ms before the tab is actually closed.

However, during this delay, the window still responds to inputs, leading to rather annoying situations. For example, during regular usage, I usually open a great number of tabs. When I am done with browsing, I close them, by repeatedly clicking the cross button on the tabs. It used to be that the tab under the cursor would immediately close, then the next tab would slide under the cursor, and I would click again to close that one, etc.

But now, when clicking the cross button, the tab is not closed, and when I click again after a small delay (because of muscle memory), the tab is still there. This cause the two single clicks to be treated as a single double-click, which for some reason puts the window in full-screen mode (but only with the snap version; I'm not sure what's going on here).

When using CTRL+w when closing tabs, the delay is still there, but the inputs are correctly handled. If I press CTRL+w three times at the usual rate, I can see the three key presses, then nothing happens for a few instants, then the three tabs close at the same time (i.e. the delay is from input to tab close, not from tab close to other tab close).

This behaviour is completely absent on Firefox (also version 140) on my windows computer.

This delay does not appear when creating tabs, and it does not occur either when closing the window or when closing the last tab in the window (leading to an amusing situation where shutting down Firefox is actually faster then closing a tab). These operation keep going at their previous speed, immeasurably fast to the human eye.

Navigation does not appear to be meaningfully slower than before the update, and the CPU/memory usage is very reasonable.

Curiously, this appears to be a fixed delay. Closing an empty tab takes the same time as closing a very busy one. Closing a tab when there are five takes the same time as closing a tab when there are thirty.

This issue makes browsing feel incredibly sluggish.

Is there a solution for this problem ?

Edit 1 : I have tried to run Firefox in troubleshoot mode, but there was no difference in behaviour. Edit 2 : Fixed typo. Edit 3 : Added exact version. I also tried to refresh Firefox, but the issue remained.

Since the automatic installation of Firefox 140.0 installed on June 25th, I cann't access at my Bank account and at other professional applications. There is a little padlock that shows off at the bottom of the windows. When I click on this padlock , it shows cookies parameters : only necessary cookies. And I want to let these parameters.

This new version wastes my time. I'm obliged to use Edge navigator.

I have an issue that up to recently, if I went to a website that needing logging in, it occurred seamlessly and the page would open. Now, even though I've checked that the login and passwords are correct and are saved, they do not automatically log in... I must do it manually for any website requiring a name and password. Even on the same day, if I leave that page, I must once again log in manually. I have rebooted, clean the cashe for each website, deleted and reentered the log in and password. This includes both Facebook and X which I view more than once per day. My operating system and Firefox are up to date. Thank you~ Susan

Hi folks,

From time to time, the button "accept the risk and continue" for a selsigned certificate (= generated locally using openssl, mkcert tools, etc) appears and sometimes not.

When the button is not displayed, then we got as error "SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER". My question is then: "When SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER is returned for selsigned certificate or not ?" Is there a way to debug and got a more verbose message to troubleshoot ?

Many thanks

This has been an issue that I've been having for the past month and have been unable to find a proper fix to it.

While Firefox opens normally, none of the previous windows show up on screen. Even though I can still technically interact such as opening new tabs in it and click through tabs with Firefox View. Once I try to pull them up none of them show on the monitor nor can be interacted with further. I have both uninstall and reinstall Firefox and deleted/rename the xulstore.json, but neither of them fix the problem The only temporary solution I've found is through refreshing Firefox through about:support, even then it only takes a couple days to suddenly have the problem come back all over again.

For added info I'm using a 2019 iMac with 15.2 OS.
