I looked at the system requirements page at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/141.0/system-requirements/ . For Windows devices, the operating systems supported are listed as "Windows 10 or later".

In October 2025, Microsoft officially stops providing feature and security updates for Windows 10. However, they offer consumers and businesses the option of enrolling in 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year subscriptions for Windows 10 devices which will provide another 1-year, 2-years, and 3-years of additional security updates. You can read more about this at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/extended-security-updates

For those individuals and businesses who will be enrolling devices into the Windows 10 ESU program, will Mozilla continue to support Firefox on Windows 10 after October 2025, at least for those receiving security updates through Microsoft subscriptions? Or at that point will Mozilla consider Windows 11 to be the only supported Windows operating system?

Thank you!

Hello:

When I signed into my computer this morning, a pop-up asked me if I wanted Firefox to update. I let it do that, and then a pop-up came up letting choose among some photos and art for a desktop background. It even let me upload a photo of mine. I chose one of yours, now I can't change to any other photo I have on my computer. Please help.

Thank you,

Cynthia M.

Team, I am a longtime user and supporter of FF. I can't tell you how much I love the the layout of Firefox on Windows in v. 133 with the vertical tabs. Just as important is the fantastic, new font rendering. Thank you so much. I used to make multiple adjustments to the font in about:config when I installed FF on Windows. Now, the fonts look fantastic out of the box. Great job, team!

That is the first line in the Hippocratic Oath. All doctors have to swear to it. All software developers should too.

I made the mistake of letting Firefox on KUbuntu update. It obliterated all my tabs and all my history. There's nothing left. I had a lot of tabs open with intent to use them to update some astronomy instructional activities. I don't know if I'll be able to find them again.

I don't really have a question except to ask: What fresh hell is this? Is it really that hard to just leave things the hell alone? I'm afraid to ever update Firefox again. If everything else wasn't based on Chromium, I'd be out of here.

Also, it looks like something out of Windows 7.

It's all gone. It's a wonder you didn't delete all my bookmarks while you were at it.

I already have "Automatically install updates" and "When Firefox is not running" enabled.

But after each Firefox update I still get the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes..." prompt and "Firefox is installing your updates and will start in a few moments" window. These are inconvenient as they require user input and take up time.

I don't get these on all other browsers I use (including Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave), which all update in the background seamlessly.

Is there a way to prevent these in Firefox and just have Firefox update seamlessly in the background like other browsers?

Is there any Add-on that will shoot a scrolling screenshot (full page screenshot)?

For reference, there's an excellent extension on Chrome/Brave called "Go full screen" which has simple but perfect functionality, one-click automation, saves as either .pdf or .png format to your downloads folder.

How much longer will Firefox be down due to server updates on Mozilla.org? ALL of my extensions are disabled for that NLT 15 minute update that's been going on for well over an hour (I know, because my extensions are still disabled and have not yet reset themselves---Mozilla crapping them out, Mozilla returns them to my setup---to the way I had them configured. Specifically, the ones I'm missing the most right now are Tab Sidebar, Tiled Tab Groups, and whichever one(s) make bookmarks/new tabs open in a NEW tab, not clobbering a tab that is currently in use. I did that to open Duck Duck Go a minute ago, and had to re-write this whole support question because, for some reason, Duck Duck Go opened up in this ACTIVELY IN USE tab instead of a new tab. And not only that, it wiped the contents of this support chat window. Sorry, but that is totally UNSAT.

Thanks, jim74, [edited] @jdgblogs.com (which needs to change to [edited] @jstrack,net---how do I do that?), Firefox ESR 91.5.1esr on Slackware v. 15.
