Simply deleting the program doesn't necessarily remove your history. I think that would need to be done as a separate step.

History is stored in a "profile" folder. This article describes how you might be able to locate it: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data. You would need to reinstall Firefox in order to actually view the data conveniently.

On a Mac you may also have the Time Machine to restore previous version of files (places.sqlite) to restore history unless Private Browsing has been used.
